I highly recommend the Becoming a Parent offerings for new and expecting parents. Heidi is very knowledgeable, professional and an excellent teacher. She creates a unique and positive approach for each family and she is able to personally address a full spectrum of important topics that new parents encounter. As a health care professional, I find these services to be an excellent adjunct to my care of new mothers and families, giving them more in-depth assistance than I am able to offer in the clinic. –Ivy J. “When I was pregnant, anytime I was cooped up inside for a while I would get a call from Heidi asking if I wanted to get out and do something with her. We would talk about all sorts of things, any questions I had about labor, homeschooling, cloth diapers, child health, vaccinations, how to organize your time when being a parent, really just about any subject she always has good advise. She was there at my first contraction helping me stay relaxed. When returning home after having the baby we were treated with treats and gifts a meal with a note of congratulations. Heidi enjoys participating, observing and helping the process of parenthood with a passion.” – Malory, North Carolina. Mother of a one year old
“Heidi has helped watch my 5 year old daughter for the last couple of years. She has been an excellent role model as a parent. She is thoughtful, full of insight and has been extremely helpful with my growth as a single father. I am so appreciative that she has been there for my daughter and I.” – Bryce Orblom, Chef and father of 2.
“I needed help with breastfeeding, and Heidi’s advice was incredibly helpful, specific and straightforward. I’m a much happier mother, with (I hope) a happier baby because of her.”

“The support, information and instruction that I receive from Heidi is priceless for me as well as my family. She has helped me to travel the path of my pregnancy with a mindfulness and confidence that I have not seen offered anywhere else in the valley; she has been an essential part of my support system for this pregnancy from the beginning, will thankfully be there with us when our baby girl joins our family, and I know that she will continue to provide me with direction and encouragement after her arrival. The advice she offers on parenting, prenatal help and family guidance is both educated and sincere which gives me strength and perseverance in my role as a new mother and step-mother. “

I asked if she would like to be present and assist when I gave birth, and she was immediately super excited. It was a long, grueling labor, and having my husband, my mother and Heidi by my side made it not seem so bad. Heidi always had another idea to try. A different position to sit/lay in. Walking around near the hospital. Always coaching and encouraging. If we were to have another child, I can’t imagine not having her there! Thanks again!– Katie and Matt, Grand Junction
Four weeks after giving birth to my second child, I was still having tremendous pain while breastfeeding. I was miserable. I had gone through a similar experience when breastfeeding the first time around and despite visiting several lactation consultants, I continued to have pain until my son was 6 months old. I was not looking forward to repeating this again. And then I spoke with Heidi. She was able to connect me with the information and the resources to solve my problem. This was no small feat! I was ecstatic to be breastfeeding without pain. It allowed me to actually enjoy the post-partum period while I got to know my new boy! Heidi was also just a tremendous source of support, comfort and encouragement during this time. It was really helpful to have someone to talk to in those early weeks and months whom has such an incredible amount of knowledge and experience to share. As well as the having the ability to listen and be a compassionate ear. Thank you, Heidi!
